and even though Yen Burgers didn’t make it into that list, I am positive it is still one of the best places to eat a nice burger.
Yen Burger is a beautiful place across the corner from Borough Market, with dark grey walls, wooden tables, and dinky chairs.
It provides burgers that combine American burger culture with Japanese ingredients and flavours and Asian-inspired cocktails.
The ‘Yen Supreme’ burger is made with wagyu beef, smoked turkey bacon, fresh pickles, cheddar, and shiso leaves. It is a fusion done with the fluffy bao-like bun that creates a flavour and texture you’ll crave after some bite.
2. Patty & Bun – Best Patty Burger in London
Patty and bun is a must-visit for burger enthusiasts in London and beyond, with a new outlet in Brighton.
If you want to feel like you’ve stepped into a time warp, the Hackney branch is a great place to do so. Our favorite item on the menu?
Grilled beef patties, American cheese, pickled red onions, and Smokey mayo make up the “Ari Gold,” which is served in an artisan bread bun and topped with the restaurant’s house-made relish.
3. Honest Burgers
There’s now a butcher shop in the fast-expanding Honest group.
Hand-chopped beef, rather than minced, is used in the burgers, which are made from the chuck and rib-cap cuts. Everything is served with the restaurant’s outstanding rosemary-seasoned chips and pink flat patties.
It’s impossible to go wrong with Honesty’s eponymous original.
There is plenty of fat in the prime-beef patties, which is good news for the flavor and juiciness of the burger.
4. Haché Burgers – Best Romantic Burger Restaurant in London
This Parisian-inspired all-day cuisine concept has seven locations, which serve everything from breakfast and coffee to burgers and drinks.
The ‘Steak Canadian’ is one of our favorites from the restaurant’s burger menu (melted mature cheddar, smoked bacon, maple bacon jam, mustard mayo, red onion, beef tomato, and rocket).
Cooked onions and gruyere with truffle shavings are served with the steak.
5. Five Guys – Best Fast Burger in London
With no less than three locations around central London, American burger joint Five Guys is a cult flavor among burger fans.
The burgers are simple: two beef patties, two slices of cheese, tomato, lettuce, and (optionally) pickles. The buns are prepared on the grill, and you can choose between regular or little burgers.
You’ll need to wait for a seat at peak times—particularly weekends—but you’ll be rewarded with some of the best fast burgers in town.
Let’s say that if you have good taste, it will blow your mind away!
6. Duck & Waffle – Best Posh Burger in London
It is one of London’s best burgers.
Duck & Waffle serves up a good helping of British culinary history and gastronomy with their Juicy Lucy, blending two classic childhood favorites – cheese and burger – for an unforgettable taste sensation.
The juicy center melts away as you bite into it, complemented by crispy lettuce and a golden toasted brioche bun.
The fresh breadcrumbs added to every layer make sure there’s no lack of texture in these indulgent treats! For a night out where nothing but a burger will do, take a walk to Duck & Waffle for your perfect match.
7. Dip & Flip
There are now two permanent Dip & Flip locations: Wimbledon and Battersea Rise. The team’s hallmark dish is the Dip & Flip burger.
As with any traditional burger, the beef patty is coated with cheese and placed on a soft, glistening brioche bun.
Thin slices of gravy-dipped roast meat are also included with dill mayo, pickles, and ketchup. But it’s the accompanying dish of rich gravy that steals the show.
8. Black Bear Burger – Brixton’s Best Burger in London
Founded on the basis of ‘exceptional burgers and iconic side dishes using the best of British produce’, Black Bear Burger are definite contenders for the best burgers in London. But why?
We visited the Brixton Village location, which is one of four in London. If you’re looking for a sit down food experience then this is the perfect location.
The moment you walk into the restaurant, you’re welcomed with an intense and extremely satisfying smell of bbq smoke. A smell that instantly makes you hungry for what’s about to come next.
The Black Bear menu is simple, yet diverse enough to offer you exactly what you’re there for. Beers on tap, well-crafted cocktails, mouth watering burgers, brisket meat and side dishes that leaves you wanting more – no matter how full you are.
To start we enjoyed the Brisket Spring Rolls (£5.95) which are honestly a one of a kind creation. Fried Wonton with 12h beer braised brisket, packed with smoked bacon and cheese, with pickles and garlic mayo.
Next up, we tucked right into the Black Bear Burger (£12.50) , which is accompanied by a rich tasting, onion jam sauce which takes this burger to a whole new level. Not forgetting the dash of garlic mayo for good measure, which pairs brilliantly with this epic burger.
If you’re vegan, not to worry, Black Bear have you covered with their Vegan Patty(£12.50) . Expect melted cheese, onion jam sauce, vegan bacon and garlic mayo. Yummy.
You can’t tuck in to one of the best burgers in London without experiencing the Brisket Philly Cheese skin on Fries (£5.50) . This side dish is insane, and loaded with just the right amount of Brisket on top. You might find it hard to share these – I certainly did.
So what’s our verdict? This burger joint scores really high on our list. Top notch burgers at affordable prices. So what are you waiting for?

9. Flank, Victoria
Flank has kept committed to its ethos of offering nose-to-tail cuisine from its humble origins as a Brighton bar pop-up.
While a permanent London location is being planned, the team is presently based at Market Halls in Victoria.
You can expect to find burgers made with St Giles cheese, onion jam, dill pickles, and handmade burger sauce.
10. MEATliquor – Best American Style Burger in London
The MEATwagon began as a burger truck in a Peckham industrial estate parking lot in 2008.
Pop-up restaurant #meatTeasy opened in New Cross after the theft of its predecessor.
The first permanent meatliquor restaurant eventually launched in W1, and the rest was history.
The ‘Dead Hippie,’ now available at 12 locations, is the team’s signature serve.
It is made with two mustard-fried beef patties smothered with melted cheese and topped with pickles, Dead Hippie sauce, lettuce, and chopped raw onions. The cocktails are also excellent.
11. Hawksmoor
This restaurant serves more than simply superb steaks; the burgers are tasty.
Seasonally changing specialties are good choices, but for those in for a real treat, the ‘Hawksmoor Hamburger’ is unquestionably the star of the show.
The burger comes with triple-cooked fries or an English lettuce, and herb salad is made with 100 percent grass-fed beef from classic British breeds, with little bone marrow for additional flavor.

12. Burger & Beyond
Even as street food vendors, the Burger & Beyond brothers took great satisfaction in ageing and slaughtering only the finest home-reared meat.
They’ve already established four permanent locations in Shoreditch, Chiswick, Camden, and Wandsworth, bringing their experience to each location.
As well as three aged-patty options made with meat from the team’s very own farm, the trendy and well-stocked bar serves up a variety of veggie, fish, and fried chicken burgers.
The ‘Bougie Burg’ is the menu’s star dish, made with bone marrow fused mayonnaise, cold-smoked American cheese, beef fat-cooked onions, and a gravy-like steak sauce.
13. Burger & Lobster
Lobster, lobster roll, and a burger are all that’s on the menu at this nine-restaurant mini-chain.
These three dishes are available in several versions, including a vegetarian alternative, but the ‘Original’ burger remains the finest.
It’s cooked using Nebraskan grown beef and comes with tomato, onions, house-made pickles, and a secret sauce. What is our recommendation? Toss in the bacon and cheese.
14. Shake Shack
Shake Shack, a US burger restaurant, launched its first London location in 2013, and that Covent Garden Piazza location is now its flagship.
Even with its huge indoor and outdoor spaces, queues can still belong for its “Smokestacks” burger.
The Smokestacks cheeseburger is made with Applewood smoked bacon, slightly spiced Shack Sauce, piquant peppers, and sweet.
When you’re craving something quick and delectable, this is the burger to try out.
15. Mac & Wild – Best Burger in London Online
If you’re looking to try out some great burgers online, then Mac & Wild do a delicious burger you’ll certainly want to try out.
Its burger combines one beef patty and one venison patty, sandwiched between mounds of cheese and a slew of pickles. Unsurprisingly, the ‘Veni-Moo’ is a popular dish on its menu.
However, Mac & Wild closed down as a physical restaurant due to the pandemic, but they still operate online if you’re craving some burgers.
16. Meat & Shake
The restaurant’s red leather seats and naked bulbs give it an American diner ambiance to balance refined meals.
Meat & Shake’s inventive menu includes truffle-infused burgers served in a smoky chamber.
The ‘Luchador’ is a Mexican-inspired dish of nachos, jalapeños, and guacamole topped with a prolonged dry-aged beef patty from Selfridges’ Macken Bros.
Brilliant sides clinch the deal – but keep in mind that this halal-friendly restaurant does not serve alcohol.
The service here is speedy, and so are the burgers since they’re made to order.
A burger at Meat & Shake isn’t only packed with flavour, and it’s reasonably priced as well!
17. Mother Flipper
Since they opened their doors, Mother Flipper has changed how people view fast food. They pride themselves on fresh ingredients, fast service, and top-quality cooking.
Start with an all-beef patty, topped with caramelized onions and arugula – served on a brioche bun or gluten-free roll.
In addition to signature burgers, there are also homemade veggie options and salads for those who don’t eat meat.
Located on Brixton Road, Mother Flipper is a short walk from central Brixton station and offers plenty of seating and takeaway options.
The staff are nice and eager to assist you when ordering – so don’t be afraid to ask if you can tweak your order!
18. Lucky Chip
Lucky Chip’s two locations in Islington and London Fields feature everything from standard cheeseburgers to completely vegan options.
Many love its top menu, the Mexican-inspired El Chappo burger.
It is sharp, smoky, and a bit salty, delivering a major flavor punch – with an aged beef patty and a heady blend of smoked bacon, roasted jalapeños, blue cheese, and aioli.
As is standard for Lucky Chip’s burgers, it comes on toasted rye bread.
But what makes El Chappo stand out above others at Lucky Chip is how well its ingredients work together, despite some initial fears you might have about a Mexican-inspired burger sounding slightly weird.
19. Bleecker Burger – Tuck into the Best Burger in London
Located on Greek Street, Bleecker is up there with our favorites for the best burger in London. A hidden gem that has proved to be one of the best restaurants in London.
The restaurant and bar serve great quality food at reasonable prices, including many delicious burgers. You can pick from various options on their menu.
However, we suggest going for the bacon double.
This burger is made from four different types of beef and served with bacon, cheese, pickles, and homemade mayonnaise.
What more could you want?
Other options include their double cheeseburger with cheese and onion rings to create a truly indulgent treat.
And for all those burger enthusiasts out there who like to push their boundaries, you can’t miss out on the bacon cheeseburger. It is filled with cheddar, jalapeños, and chipotle sauce.
20. Blacklock Shoreditch – Best Classy Burger in London
Blacklock Shoreditch has gained a loyal local following for its meat platters. But, Blacklock cannot be disregarded when it comes to the best authentic burger in London.
Their burgers are homemade, the restaurant has a stripped-back decor and strict no-booking policy.
The restaurant prides itself on its lean burger patties, which are topped with a choice of cheese and salad.
You can add extras like bacon onion rings to your order for a true American diner-style, but don’t expect fries to come with it. Further west on Bethnal Green Road, you’ll find Blacklock Soho, where things are slightly more upmarket.
Instead of paper menus, an iPad contains over 100 mouth-watering options, including Pressed Duck and Stilton Burger, served with truffle béarnaise sauce.
Throw in an extensive selection of craft beers or artisan wines, and you have a winning combination every time.

21. Goodman Mayfair
Focusing on prime cuts of steak and fine wine, Goodman Mayfair offers a great mix of quality ingredients and simple cooking.
Those who do not eat meat will be pleased to hear that Goodman also serves a mouth-watering selection of burgers without beef.
The Greenhouse comes topped with roasted butternut squash, goat’s cheese, and caramelised onions. Goodman Burger features slow-cooked beef short rib with blue cheese, ketchup, and dijon mustard sauce.
All sandwiched between two pieces of bread. Goodman Mayfair also has an extensive wine list, so if you want to sip while you chow down on beef, that’s perfectly acceptable here!
22. Dinings SW3
With delicious burgers, mouth-watering desserts, and a great selection of wines and beers, Dining’s SW3 is a favorite local haunt for anyone seeking tasty comfort food.
The menu boasts a range of classic dishes with various interesting twists on some classics – including their burgushi option, which combines elements of burger and sushi to create something new.
It offers Josper-grilled meat from pampered cows prepared with brown buns and topped with teriyaki sauce, crunchy lettuce, and sesame.
There’s plenty here that would appeal to even those who aren’t normally fans of fast food: light options such as sandwiches and salads are available, while there are also plenty of nice sides such as sweet potato fries or onion rings to enjoy too.
23. Baggio Burger
When looking for the best burger in London, size is important. At Baggio, burgers are prepared with perfection and a generous serving that will keep you full for the rest of the day.
A Baggio burger is a great way to start the weekend or any day of the week.
Despite the significantly darker color of these patties, they are cooked to medium-rare, not overcooked, thanks to the inclusion of garlic and balsamic vinegar.
Classic Roberto is popular on its menu, and it’s no surprise given that it’s made with brioche bread stuffed with stringy mozzarella, crispy Parma Ham, pickle, sun-dried tomato relish, and rocket.
24. Dirty Burger – Discover the Best Burger in London
Dirty burger has a cult following thanks to its chic décor courtesy of ultra-slick owner Soho House, moderate rates, and superb cuisine.
Each patty is made from a carefully selected blend of cuts, resulting in a depth of flavour that makes it an outstanding burger when coupled with pickles, lettuce, cheese, tomato, and condiments.
What’s the best thing on the menu? That would be its classic cheeseburger. Don’t forget the bacon and slide it in if you have any room.
25. The Double Standard
The Standard gorgeous brutalist hotel that rises above King’s Cross and is crammed with plenty of Seventies kitsch to keep your Instagram feed full for months now offers bottomless brunch on Sundays on the patio of the bottom floor Double Standard restaurant.
Aside from the steady flow of Prosecco and Bloody Marys, the food menu includes hot dogs, vegan banana pancakes, and other booze-soaked delights. However, we recommend the Brunch Burger, one of the greatest we’ve had in London in a long time.
Earning its place in our best burger in London list, the recipe is straightforward but effective: a juicy smash burger topped with dribbles of Bloody Mary ketchup, pieces of bacon, and melted smoked cheddar. Unfortunately, the burgers aren’t endless, but you can’t have it all.
26. The Bluebird Café
Although served on one of London’s most affluent streets, the Bluebird Café’s iconic hamburger lacks pretence. Nothing but a delicious burger made with gem lettuce, cheese, house sauce, pickles, and a side of fluffy chips.
However, what truly distinguishes the Bluebird Café is its lush outdoor dining area, which is ideal for a hot summer day. Pair with cocktails, our favorite being the lychee and rose martini.
When al fresco dining isn’t an option, the Bluebird restaurant (next to the café) provides a wonderful burger topped high with Mayfield cheese, caramelized onion, and bacon.
27. Tommi’s Burger Joint
Tommi’s is all about simplicity, quality, and authenticity – what sets them apart is the quality of meat that goes into every patty – all sourced from premium organic butchers H G Walter.
Founded in Iceland by Tommi Tomasson in 1981, the atmosphere is more akin to stepping into a Midwest dive bar in the 1960s (with a playlist to match) than Reykjavik.
Diners at Tommi’s tend to opt for the classic or steak burger – or the monthly rotating guest specials.
This month is their springtime ‘California Burger – ‘classic Tommi’s patty served with Monterey jack cheese, Cali relish, and smashed avocados’.
