Teflon Don 4 Reasons Why Trump is Untouchable
Why Trump is Untouchable and why he will be there 2024
With the latest FBI raid on Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Estate, I’ve been thinking: “How can one person escape consequences as much as Donald Trump?
Donald Trump has been around for most of my life. When I was watching Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, there he was being scolded by Ashley Banks.
When I was watching Home Alone 2, there he was giving Kevin McAllister directions.
When I was watching Monday Night Raw, there he was beefing with Vince McMahon and getting stunned by Stone Cold Steve Austin. Good times.
Then he was the host of The Apprentice and, most recently, he was the 45th President of the United States of America.
I’m skipping a lot of projects and appearances that were attributed to him, but they don’t matter because I prefer to think about how he got to where he is now.
Who Was Donald Trump Before He Became President?
Donald Trump was a real estate mogul, mainly based in New York, who made a name for himself by buying property, casinos, and hotels wherever he could.
He would famously put his name in bold, gold letters in front of every building he owned. Despite receiving millions of dollars from his father’s estate, he would act as though he was a self-made man, and he made people believe he could teach them how to do the same.
Trump as a Brand
In the early 2000s, pyramid schemes disguised as legitimate businesses were big in my city. I remember being invited to many of those business meetings where someone tried to convince me to give them $500 and then I needed to find two people to give me $500 and those people needed to find more suckers of their own, and so the pyramid went.
They tried to market those schemes as the key to personal wealth and being your own boss.
All these “businesses” had one thing in common: an endorsement video from none other than Donald J. Trump. I’m a skeptic by nature, so I rolled my eyes when Trump appeared on the screen, but it mesmerized the other people in the room. If they didn’t believe in the business before that point, they did after watching the video.
The problem with that video was that it never named the business in question. It was a generic video that people bought and put on display for the masses. Donald Trump sold his image for personal gain.
He probably endorsed hundreds of businesses without knowing it.
Scandalous Trump
He’s always been a racist, thin-skinned, narcissist who couldn’t get enough of himself and basked in being in the spotlight … good or bad.
Scandal after scandal riddled his career, but, unlike the average celebrity, he remained untouched. No allegation ever stuck because he’s Teflon. Look at the list of shit they have accused him of:
Sexual Assault Allegations
Trump snitched on himself when he was being interviewed by Billy Bush for an Access Hollywood segment. He didn’t know the mic was on, but he admitted to kissing women without their consent and “grabbing them by the pussy”. He got away with that because he was running for president and republicans (and FOX News) will shamelessly defend their candidates to the bitter end.
Miss America Pageant
If you didn’t know, Donald Trump owned the Miss America Pageant from 1996 to 2015. It was rumored that he would walk into dressing rooms without notice and just creep around the contestants. He would also keep black women out of the pageant and make passes at multiple women.
Racial Housing Discrimination
From 1973 to 1975, the Department of Justice sued Donald and his father, Fred, for refusing to rent properties to people of color.
There are a multitude of scandals that he was involved in, but there are too many to name. The ones listed above are just the tip of the iceberg. You can check out this article from the Atlantic to read the entire scandal cheat sheet.
So how does such an infamous person survive all these career-ending scandals when others have fallen into oblivion for much less?
4 Reasons Why Trump is Teflon.
1. Money
Money gets you power and Trump had enough money to get him the power he desired. Power usually gets you respect, however, Trump preferred to use threats and lawsuits to cultivate fear.
He did reprehensible things, and he got away with it because of his money, which he would use to sue people for all they were worth if they didn’t comply with his wishes.
He got people to go along with his shit because they didn’t want him as an enemy.
2. A Team of Lawyers
Early in his career, Trump had access to a competent team of lawyers who made it almost impossible for anything to stick to him. Rudy Giuliani aside, he was always represented by lawyers who protected his assets and allowed him to escape any consequence.
3. Name Recognition
For someone who has no true, discernible talent, he built quite the fan base and name recognition. He managed to associate his name with American success and the image he built is almost impossible to bring down.
The people who believe that Donald Trump is a successful business mogul cannot be told otherwise even when you inform them of the man’s four bankruptcies and all of his shady deals over the years.
4. Lack of Political Correctness
Trump has never been careful with his words. He says what he wants when he wants and his followers love that about him. Any other person would have been cancelled years ago, but the Trump name remains strong no matter how stupid, racist, insensitive and misguided he can be. He doesn’t care about what he says and does because he’s never faced real consequences for anything.
Can We Learn Anything from Donald Trump?
Maybe a few things like building a name for yourself is probably the most important thing you can do and that when you want something you should go for it. Also, money is power.
Everything else Trump has done is a masterclass in what someone should not do. Ever.
We’ll see if he can escape the latest scandal he’s in.
He will be there 2024
Is best for the media business
