Wrestling and sex like peanut butter and jelly.
When you take beautiful people, make them wear next to nothing and have them compete for glory like gladiators in ancient Rome, it only makes sense that the next step would be for them to celebrate by going at it like rabbits, right?
I mean, we all know that wrestlers get close and sex becomes a part of their career given that they are idolized and lusted after on a daily basis, but since wrestling is broadcast on TV, often to a young audience, sex was alluded to and the audience was often left to fantasize about the beautiful bodies they were so used to watching on TV. Sometimes, though, there were times when wrestling and porn merged much to the joy of adoring fans.
There are many female wrestlers who either had adult content out there before joining the WWE or they created content afterwards. The most notable ones are:
- Mickie James
James took a bunch of nude photos before she joined the WWE. These photos were not made public until a few years after she made her debut and, by the time these pictures were out there, she was too famous for it to significantly hurt her career. She’s still in the wrestling industry to this day. - Candice Michelle
Michelle used her WWE fame to get on the cover of Playboy and she later appeared in a few softcore porn movies that didn’t really make an impact. - Victoria
Victoria (Lisa Marie Varon) has a sex tape that was leaked to the internet after she left the WWE. - Kaitlyn
Also (Celeste Bonin) has a lot of topless photos online. Those photos made the rounds before Onlyfans was a thing, but that’s where this kind of content belongs. - Paige
Paige’s sex tape was a threesome with two other wrestlers. It was a big deal because the video did not fall in line with the WWE’s PG-rating. She somehow remained employed because of her popularity, but she regrets the whole situation. - Sunny and Chyna
More on these two later.
Before we keep going, let’s take a brief look at how women evolved within wrestling, which most likely led to how some wrestlers did porn or are now on Onlyfans.
WOMEN IN THE GOLDEN ERA OF WRESTLING
In the 80s, there weren’t that many women in Wrestling and the ones who were featured in the show only appeared as costume jewelry or as a pretty distraction that helped the story move forward like when Macho Man would walk down to the ring with Miss Elizabeth by his side. Miss Elizabeth was beautiful, elegant and innocent, which made men want her and women want to be her. She was always tastefully covered up as she would only show a little bit of cleavage to give you a taste of what she hid under her dress.
Things changed in the late 90s and early 2000s
THE ATTITUDE ERA AND THE PUSH FOR SEXUAL CONTENT
In an attempt to gain more male fans, the WWE started involving more and more women into the show. Women like the iconic blonde bombshell Sable would normally be managing other wrestlers, which meant that she would accompany them to the ring, assist them during the match (aka distract the referee and other wrestlers) and speak for them during the promos. Sable was one of the most popular women in wrestling history. Unlike Miss Elizabeth, she dressed provocatively, showed lots of skin and flaunted curves making her steal the spotlight every time she was announced. Sable’s playboy cover is still one of the magazine’s best selling issues. But before Sable took over the attitude era, there was Sunny.
SUNNY’S STORY
Tamara Lynn Sytch a.k.a Sunny was the original Diva.
No disrespect to Sable, but Sunny was the one who started it all. If Miss Elizabeth was the wholesome girl you wanted to protect, Sunny was the bad girl in desperate need of a spanking.
She started her career as an announcer, but she quickly left that behind to manage Skip and Zip of the Bodydonnas. The Bodydonnas were an uninteresting pair, however, with Sunny, they became an attraction.
Unlike her predecessors, Sunny was routinely given a mic on a regular basis and she had a genuine talent when it came to speaking in front of a crowd or a camera. Sunny confused the crowd. They didn’t know whether to cheer or boo when she would come out. She was blonde, hot and captivating, so even when she was saying things you didn’t want to hear, you couldn’t look away.
It’s safe to say that she paved the way for Sable and dozens of women. But, you can only be on top for so long until people get bored or someone comes to take your spot and that’s what happened. Sable’s popularity grew and Sunny slowly but surely started to fade due to her problems out of the ring. She would miss shows due to a painkiller addiction and she was eventually released by the WWE. Sunny’s story doesn’t get any better from there.
She kept working for different wrestling companies here and there, but being out of options and out of money, she turned to porn. In 2015, four years after being inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame, she made a movie titled Sunny Side Up produced by Vivid Entertainment. She doesn’t look anything like she did in the 90s, but her fans were still interested to watch her bare it all.
Unfortunately, her addiction was never handled and she was charged with domestic violence and multiple DUIs, one of which recently resulted in an accident where someone lost their life.
With Sunny’s success, the WWE pushed for women to be more involved in matches. If male fans wanted to look at women, the WWE made sure to give them a lot of hot women. This gave birth to the careers of:
- Torrie Wilson
- Trish Stratus
- Jacqueline
- Ivory
- Lita
- And, last but not least, Chyna
CHYNA’S STORY
When Joanie Laurer a.k.a. Chyna made her first appearance, the crowd was shocked. She was a muscularly massive woman with a masculine look and she never said much, but would kick ass on command.
She was part of one of the most revered factions in WWE history, D-Generation X led by Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Given that Chyna wasn’t the typical diva, she went through her own series of surgeries – breast implants, lip injections and more – to appeal to the male audience more and it worked. She was definitely hotter after all that work and she started to dress more provocatively and showed more skin. She was also given more time on the mic.
D-Generation X had a good run with Chyna, who was dating Triple H at the time, but when the pair broke up and Triple H moved on with Stephanie McMahon, Chyna’s career with the WWE took a turn for the worse. It wasn’t ideal that Chyna’s ex-boyfriend was hooking up with one of the most powerful women in the wrestling business, but no one can really say if that’s the direct reason why Chyna left the company. It could have been due to her injuries or the fact that she didn’t have much of an identity without D-X. Whatever the reason, Chyna’s star faded until she and fellow D-X member X-Pac sold their sex tape for profit. The movie titled One Night in Chyna, was a success given that everyone wanted to see it whether it was due to pure curiosity or to jerk off to it. The public had already seen Chyna’s goods in Playboy, but Playboy isn’t porn.
Chyna also starred in an Avengers porn parody where she played She-Hulk (who technically wasn’t in the Avengers, but let’s not get all nerdy about this). No one knows if Chyna would’ve had a longer career in the adult film industry because she unfortunately passed away from an accidental drug overdose in 2016.
The attitude era showed us that sex and wrestling not only sells, but that people wanted their Diva fantasies to take an X-rated turn.
THE WWE’S PG-ERA
Once the WWE went PG to attract younger viewers, all of the raunchy content stopped almost instantly. Yes, women still showcased their curves and enticed the audience, but the WWE didn’t attempt 3/4 of the stunts that they used to. Women were now required to have skills and talent and be more than just a pretty face.
If a female athlete didn’t check all those boxes, she would soon be out of the rotation in the WWE. Take Eva Marie for instance. Eva Marie is probably one of the prettiest women to ever step in a ring, however, she had no charisma or wrestling ability. She was nice to look at and that was it, so she didn’t last long.
The New Wave – OnlyFans
Even though the WWE went PG, it doesn’t stop the following facts:
- people will always be having sex and taking nude pics
- some of those people will end up posting it on the internet
When these two things happen to a WWE Diva, she’s usually released from the WWE. So what’s a beautiful girl with no job and tons of social media fans to do for money in this day and age? OnlyFans!
So if you’re into WWE Divas showing skin for money, here’s a quick list of former WWE divas who have OnlyFans accounts.
- Scarlett Bordeaux
- Persia Pirotta (Steph De Lander)
- CJ ‘Lana’ Perry
- Katie Forbes
- B-Fab (Briana Brandy)
The combination of porn and wrestling will always be alluring for obvious reasons. When you see a woman parade her curves in the most sensual ways, the next picture that will pop into your mind will probably be sexual, so when these women leak nude photos, sex tapes or star in an adult film, people will always flock to it.
