Australia are considering sending more players home from India as they look to cut down the strength of their squad ahead of the remaining Tests.
Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and David Warner have already returned. Ashton Agar and Matt Renshaw will possibly leave the Australian camp if the management decides they are not in their plans for Indore and Ahemdabad Tests.
“Are we carrying a lot of players in the squad? We have to be very careful as cricket is going on in Australia. We have to be clear what we want to achieve in the next two Tests as a team. We would consider sending players back home,” said the coach, Andrew McDonald.
India have retained the Border-Gavaskar trophy for the fourth straight time after winning the second Test by 6 wickets in Delhi.
The hosts won the first Test by an innings and 132 runs in Nagpur.
