With the support of an internationally present company with Hungarian ties, Hungary is poised to become a pioneer in sustainable transportation solutions
The exemplary collaboration between Hydra Horizon Holding and key industry players, hydrogen-powered Driver taxis are set to hit the streets of Budapest as early as December this year. Travelers will first encounter these vehicles in the fleet of a globally recognized service provider. The deployment of hydrogen-powered Toyota Mirais in the Hungarian capital reflects the commitment of the U.S.-based holding company—owned by Hungarian stakeholders—to promoting sustainable, eco-friendly technology and infrastructure on a global scale.
Beyond Hydra Horizon’s extensive expertise in hydrogen-powered transportation, which spans the entire value chain from renewable energy production to motorsport, the success of this project is further supported by the dedication of several prominent industry players. During the initial test phase, the vehicles will be fueled by HUMDA Hungarian Mobility Development Agency Ltd.
Refueling for Driver’s taxis will take place at the Linde Gas Hungary Ltd. facility, which has been supplying hydrogen to buses in test operations since the beginning of the year.
Championing these collaborative efforts for a greener and more sustainable future are renowned ambassadors, including successful race car drivers Vivien Keszthelyi and David Schumacher, who are associated with the owner Hydra Horizon Holding.
