India batter Suryakumar Yadav has revealed the name of a person who named him SKY. The term was coined by former India player Gautam Gambhir. Suryakumar is the standby player for the World Test Championship Final against Australia.
Speaking to BCCI, Suryakumar said Gambhir coined his nickname ‘SKY’ when he was a part of Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League.
In IPL 2023, Yadav accumulated 605 runs in 16 matches, at an average of 43.21 and a strike rate of 181.14.
“Gauti Bhai (Gautam Gambhir) started calling me with this name as Suryakumar Yadav was a long name for him,” he said.
He likes to visit London in the United Kingdom, while Lord’s is his favourite ground in the European country.
India will tale on Australia in the WTC Final at the Kennington Oval on June 7.
