Chennai Super Kings break silence on MS Dhoni’s retirement from IPL

Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan believes that the team’s captain, MS Dhoni, will continue to play for the franchise in the Indian Premier League 2024 season. Speaking in a video uploaded by Chennai Super Kings after their match against Kolkata Knight Riders, the CSK CEO expressed his confidence in Dhoni’s future with the team and asked fans to continue supporting them as they have done this season.

Dhoni had hinted at retirement during the 2022 IPL season, stating that he would like to tour the country with CSK after COVID-19 restrictions were lifted and thank fans for their support throughout his career. However, in the ongoing edition of the IPL, the crowd has come out in full force to show their support for Dhoni and the Chennai Super Kings.

Despite facing fitness issues and batting lower down the order this season, Dhoni has still managed to impress with his sixes in the final overs of games. The Chennai Super Kings, under Dhoni’s leadership, are once again set to qualify for the playoffs.

When asked about retirement rumors, Dhoni responded that it was the broadcaster and the fans’ belief that this would be his last tournament. He has not made any official announcement regarding his retirement.

Fans of the Chennai Super Kings will undoubtedly be relieved to hear Viswanathan’s comments about Dhoni’s future with the franchise. With the legendary captain at the helm, the team has consistently been one of the strongest performers in the IPL.
