Aakash Chopra has predicted that the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will beat Mumbai Indians (MI) in their Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 match at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Monday, March 6.
RCB lost their opening game by 60 runs against Delhi Capitals at the same venue. MI thumped Gujarat Giants by 143 runs on the opening day of the WPL 2023.
“RCB are coming after losing the first match. The game will be played at Brabourne, where RCB have played previously but Mumbai haven’t. If you take woman-to-woman marking, Mumbai are favourites, but I am going with RCB,’ he said on his YouTube channel.
The former Indian opener feels that Mandhana should improve her performance with the bat. Ellyse Perry should be given more freedom with the ball.
“Smriti has to fire for Bangalore. Sophie Devine needs runs and they should give a slightly bigger role to Ellyse Perry in the bowling department,” he said.
Mandhana scored a 23-ball 35 against DC, while Perry bowled three overs.
